A strike force has been formed, and will investigate, after more than fifty suspicious fires in West Tamworth, NSW Police say.
Strike Force Laden, comprising investigators from Oxley Police District and officrs from the State Crime Commands Arson Squad, has been formed to investigate arsons across West Tamworth in the past six months.
Emergency services have attended more than 50 fires, including car, grass and structural fires since October 2017.
Officers tomorrow (Wednesday 6 June 2018), will be attending West Tamworth to canvass for information. A command vehicle will be at ‘Youthie’ at the intersection of Cossa and Quinn Street to take information from the community.
The operation will continue until 9 June 2018.
Police encourage the community to report all suspicious activity. All information will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
