A man has been charged over the alleged supply of ice and MDMA as part of an ongoing investigation into outlaw motorcycle gangs in Sydney, NSW Police say.
In November 2015, the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the activities of the Burwood Chapter of the Rebels OMCG and their associates.
As part of their ongoing inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a safe house at Concord in September 2016, where they seized 13 firearms, ammunition, a ballistic vest, ballistic face masks, an electronic stun device, methylamphetamine, MDMA, and items consistent with drug supply.
Two men – aged 27 and 30 – were arrested and charged with various offences in November 2016. They remain before the courts.
A third man, now aged 23, was also arrested at the time and charged with consorting.
Following a forensic examination of items seized, the 23-year-old man was arrested officers attached to Strike Force Raptor at a home at Merrylands, about 9am yesterday.
Officers seized mobile phones in his possession before he was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with large commercial drug supply, commercial drug supply, possess prohibited weapon, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Friday 14 July 2017.
Investigations are ongoing.
Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.
