Launceston CIB is investigating a suspicious structure fire at Longford last night resulting in an estimated $250,000 of damage.
The fire destroyed an unoccupied Cressy Road house and contents.
Subsequent investigation by Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police has determined the fire was deliberately lit.
Tasmania Police are investigating the crime and encourage anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously, Tasmania Police say.
