Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a university student with alleged child abuse material offences under Strike Force Glandore.
Strike Force Glandore was established by State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad Child Internet Exploitation Unit (CIEU) to investigate the online distribution, supply and access of child abuse material.
After being identified as an alleged suspect in the investigation, about 3pm yesterday (Monday 28 July 2025), strike force detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at a university campus in Randwick.
During a search of the man's phone, police allegedly located over 25,000 videos and images of child abuse material, including 42 marked as favourites.
The man was taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with use carriage etc to access child abuse material.
He was refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court today (Tuesday 29 July 2025).
