Student police officer charged in Goulburn

A student police officer will face court next month after being charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, NSW Police say.

On Friday 18 November 2016, it will be alleged officers located a pair of non police issued handcuffs during a room search.

Following inquiries, the man was charged with possess prohibited weapon (handcuffs) without a permit and not ensure safe keeping of prohibited weapon.

He will appear at Goulburn Local Court on Monday 24 January 2017.

The man’s professional suitability is currently suspended with further determination to be made.
