Vaping among young people is a growing concern that requires a new approach. That's why we've developed a student-led initiative that transforms young people into campaign leaders, empowering them to drive meaningful change in their communities.
Introducing Fresh Take - A Southside Creative project
Local governments and community health partners have a responsibility to support schools and communities in addressing this escalating health concern, so we're empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and tools to participate in the development of messaging to reinforce health warnings and instigate meaningful change.
Led by the City of Stonnington, Fresh Take is a collaboration between five local Councils in the south-east of Melbourne. The other participating councils are Bayside City Council, City of Kingston, City of Port Phillip, and Glen Eira City Council. The program is also supported by Caulfield Community Health Service, Better Health Network, South-East Public Health Unit and VicHealth).
Participating students are working with creative agency Your Creative to develop impactful, professional-grade presentations which can be used in the future as valuable, culturally safe educational resources in schools. These will include short videos, social media reels, performance, still imagery and music. Subject matter experts, including QUIT Victoria and Headspace will also be on hand to provide factual resources and advice.
