Sudden death investigation at Bundaberg

Police have declared a crime scene at a grass and vehicle fire in Bundaberg, where a body was located inside a car overnight, October 10.

Initial investigations indicate police were called to a grass fire at 8.10pm on vacant land near Johnston Street.

Officers found a vehicle was also alight nearby and a deceased person was located inside the car.

A crime scene was declared and investigations into the incident are underway.

Anyone who may have witnessed a vehicle driving into grassland on Johnston Street before the fire, or who may have further information that could assist investigators, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
