Sudden death investigation at Nambour

Police have commenced an investigation into the death of a man in his 30's at Nambour overnight.

Police were called to Maud Street shortly after 11pm last night (August 16) to reports of a man collapsed in the street.

Initial information suggests that there was an altercation within a nearby unit a short time before the man was found.

Emergency crews attempted to revive the man, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Maroochydore Criminal Investigation Branch have commenced an investigation and a crime scene has been established.

Police advise the scene, between Sydney Street and William Street is likely to cause some local traffic congestion and advise people to plan their trip accordingly.

Investigators urge anyone with information about this matter or dashcam footage from that area after 11pm, to contact police.
