Sudden Death Investigation, Taranganba

Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman at Taranganba on Sunday 14 September.

Around 7.45pm, police and emergency services were called to a Scenic Highway tavern following reports a woman fell and sustained life-threatening head injuries.

The 50-year-old woman was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital, however she succumbed to her injuries and died today, 17 September.

A 42-year-old Rosslyn man who was known to the woman is assisting police with enquiries.

As part of investigations into the woman's death, police are appealing for public assistance to witnesses who may have seen a man and woman at the same licensed premises in Yeppoon on Sunday 14 September between 6pm and 8pm.

Police would particularly like to speak with two groups of people who left the premises around 7.30pm, and the occupants of a dual cab utility who drove out of the carpark at around the same time who may have witnessed the pair.

These witnesses may be able to assist police with investigations into an incident that occurred at the tavern in the hours before the woman fell.
