Sunbury PSO's arrest violent offender

Diligent PSO’s patrolling Sunbury Railway Station made a dynamic arrest of a wanted suspect yesterday evening, Victoria Police say.

While on routine patrol at the railway station carpark they noticed three suspicious males at about 9.30pm.

Upon approach, one of them was recognised as a person of interest for an earlier theft at Foodwords in Caroline Springs.

Upon requesting the person’s details he refused before allegedly spitting at the PSO’s and becoming aggressive.

OC foam was utilised to subdue the suspect but he continued to lash out whilst being handcuffed.

Police from Sunbury and the Transit Division came to assist.

The 16-year-old was taken back to Moonee Ponds where he was charged with theft, assault PSO’s, resist arrest, possess prohibited weapon, possess graffiti implements and handle stolen goods.

The Romsey boy was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The PSO’s were not injured during the incident and are in good spirits.
