Sunnybank Worker Wins $4M Powerball Jackpot

The Lott

A Sunnybank healthcare worker has been overwhelmed with emotions after pocketing a massive $4 million in last night's Powerball draw, finally making his dream of buying a home in his own name a reality.

The Brisbane man held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Powerball draw 1543, drawn Thursday 11 December 2025.

The thrilled man immediately spotted his special numbers while checking the results late last night and was left speechless after realising he was now a multi-millionaire.

"I cannot feel anything right now," he joked.

"It's an overwhelming feeling!

"Last night I was going to bed but then I remembered it was Thursday and that's when I put my Powerball ticket on. I thought, 'let me check the winning numbers!'.

"The numbers looked so familiar to me. That's when it all clicked.

"I scanned the ticket, and I was in so much shock!

"The numbers are significant; they're special family dates and anniversaries so they're easy to remember.

"I've been trying to buy my own house and now I can! I can achieve the Australian Dream.

"Then for the rest of the prize, I'll have to see what I can do. Probably invest for the future and set myself up for when I retire.

"I'm a hospital worker and while I wasn't on night shift, I was awake all night last night! I couldn't stop checking my ticket.

"I am keen to have a proper sleep tonight."

His winning entry was purchased at TSG Pinelands Plaza, Shop 25 Pinelands Plaza Shopping Centre, Sunnybank Hills.
