Sunshine drink driver loses licence and car

Caroline Springs police intercepted an alleged drink driver in Caroline Springs yesterday evening (1 Aug).

Officers observed the Mitsubishi Lancer on the Caroline Springs Boulevard about 7.20pm.

The vehicle was intercepted and the driver, a 35-year-old Sunshine man returned an alleged evidentiary breath test of 0.292.

His probationary licence was immediately suspended and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic offences.

His vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.50.
