Sunshine North homicide - update

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of a woman in Sunshine North last night, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed a man and a woman were at a property on Romsey Avenue, St Albans when the firearms incident occurred about 9.10pm.

The 42-year-old woman was then dropped at the emergency department of a Sunshine hospital, where she later died.

A vehicle has then the hospital, colliding with a grey ute on Furlong Road, near the Western Ring Road off ramp shortly after 9.20pm.

The male driver of the vehicle then forced the female driver of the second vehicle out of her car, and took off in it.

A few minutes later that car then collided with a silver vehicle being driven by a woman, on Furlong Road near Cooke Avenue.

A 32-year-old man was subsequently arrested by police shortly after.

He remains in custody and is yet to be interviewed by police.

The parties involved in the shooting are believed to be known to each other.

Police also searched a property on Gumtree Avenue as part of this investigation, however it is now not believed to be connected to the incident.
