Supermarket fire at Walgett

A supermarket has been evacuated, and an exclusion zone put in place, following a fire at Walgett this morning.

About 8.40am (Wednesday 5 June 2019), emergency services were called to a business on Fox Street, Walgett, following reports of a fire.

Firefighters are attending to the blaze, with officers from Central North Police District also on scene.

There have been no reports of injury.

Police will work to determine the cause of the fire and will meet with the local council to ensure the community will have adequate access to groceries and other provisions.
