The new changes mean all NSW energy providers will offer payment plans until 30 June 2021 on energy bills to any customers impacted by the recent floods.

Energy providers will not disconnect services from households or small businesses who have indicated hardship to their provider.

If you are experiencing financial hardship from the floods, contact your energy provider to discuss support services available.

More financial support will also be made available through Service NSW's Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA) Scheme.

If you are facing difficulties paying current energy bills, you may be eligible for additional support via the EAPA.

Energy Minister Matt Kean said nobody facing hardship should have to worry about being unable to pay their energy bill.

"My message to customers is know your rights, and my message to retailers is know your responsibilities," Mr Kean said.
