Supported Playgroup continues online

In these times of restriction and social distancing, Horsham Playgroup has taken its supported sessions online.

The new Horsham Rural City Council (HRCC) Virtual Playground has begun and offers families the opportunity to connect with others safely in an online environment.

Sessions can be joined on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10.30am by tuning into the HRCC Playgroup's Facebook Page.

Director of Community Wellbeing Kevin O'Brien said he expected many families to join the sessions.

"It is exciting that Council is able to offer a virtual playgroup, providing an opportunity for families to connect online," Mr O'Brien said.

"This is so important in these times where we all need to be at home. This program will help overcome isolation and provide families with the support they need."

The sessions are free and will offer home play and learning opportunities including stories, activities and songs. Support packs have been distributed to participating families with resources connecting to the online content being delivered each week.
