Supporting COVID response in MidCoast

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council's administration and customer service centre at Yalawanyi Ganya is currently operating as the region's emergency operations centre.

The operations centre provides a central location for the local emergency operations committee, which consists of Council and emergency services, to support NSW Health in managing the COVID situation in the local community.

"We are working closely with the local emergency operations committee and are supporting them in a variety of ways," General Manager Adrian Panuccio explained.

"It is important we all work together to support our community as we navigate the current situation."

The community is reminded stay at home orders are in place until 12.01am next Monday 11 October for the 2428 and 2430 postcodes.

Members of the community are encouraged to get tested if they experience any symptoms or have attended an exposure site listed by NSW Health.

Vaccination and testing sites in the MidCoast are available on the NSW Health website www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19

MidCoast Council continues to provide services to the community in a variety of COVID-safe ways, including via phone and online.

With the situation changing rapidly the best way to keep up-to-date with Council's services are via www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/covid as the Public Health Order requirements may result in changes to operating hours or closures for a number of Council services.
