Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragic events in Bondi on Sunday 14 December.
Experiencing and witnessing a traumatic event can be overwhelming, and support is available for businesses and their workers.
SafeWork NSW has free programs available to support NSW small and medium sized businesses (fewer than 200 employees) and NSW not for profit organisations to help support their workers' psychological health and safety – these include:
- Advisory services involving confidential one-on-one sessions with an expert on psychological health and safety.
- Free mental health training to ensure workers in these businesses have the practical knowledge and skills to support their own mental health and look out for their colleagues. Training is available for leaders, managers and supervisors and workers.
That support is available by visiting Free training and coaching.
SafeWork NSW has an Information Sheet on developing a Traumatic Event Management Plan (PDF, 627.44 KB), designed to help workplaces create a supportive environment, encourage open conversations, and connect with workers with professional help if required.
SafeWork NSW will continue to help ensure those impacted by the tragic incident on Sunday are provided with support.
