Supporting Tassie women and girls

Jacquie Petrusma,Minister for Women

Supporting and empowering Tasmanian women and girls is a key priority for the Hodgman Liberal Government in creating a more inclusive state.

International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women, and I'm honoured to announce the recipients of the International Women's Day Small Grants Program.

The Small Grants Program is a new initiative, providing funding for 24 local organisations across the state to run a wide variety of events for International Women's Day on 8 March 2019 that celebrate and promote the contribution of Tasmanian women.

The Kingborough and Huon Business Enterprise Centre will use its grant for hosting a gala dinner, while the Soroptimist International of Circular Head will host an evening function to celebrate the contribution of Circular Head's unsung heroines.
