Surgery 2021 to take place in Queenstown

RACS New Zealand Annual Surgeons Meeting - Surgery 2021: Reflecting on Practice, will take place on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 September 2021 in Queenstown. A range of thought-provoking speakers will inspire, you will have the opportunity to take part in stimulating discussions both on and off the meeting floor and of course catch up informally with colleagues.

"Much of what we do in our clinical work is carried out without reflecting. Surgery 2021 will challenge you to reflect on your own ways of working and how you can build collaborative, informed and safe surgical practices, " says Rachelle Love, Surgery 2021 convener.

Conference highlights include: Professor Peter Brennan, editor of Gray's Surgical Anatomy and human factors expert, presenting on Human Factors in Surgical Decision Making; All Blacks psychological consultant Dr Ceri Evans on Harnessing the Power of Performance; Dr Sally Langley, President of RACS, giving an update on College activities and initiatives; and Professor Suzanne Pitama and Dr Tania Huria from Otago University's Māori Health and Indigenous Institute on the Cultural Competence with Māori learning module.
