Police are currently investigating the suspected drowning of a 49 year old man from Lenah Valley who was scuba diving in the area around Visscher Island located North East of Marion Bay, Tasmania Police say.
Emergency Services were alerted to the incident around 1:20 pm Saturday 19 November 2016.
Diving companions commenced CPR after locating the man unresponsive in the water. They then travelled to the nearest boat ramp at Boomer Bay.
The man was pronounced deceased by Paramedics at the Boomer Bay Boat ramp.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
