Suspicious Behaviour – Wey Street in Blackwater, QLD

On the 11th of May 2017, Blackwater Police received reports that at approximately 3pm, an unknown male person stopped the vehicle he was driving near a child on Wey Street, Blackwater.  It is alleged the male asked the child to get into the vehicle and that he would drop him at home.  The child has declined the offer and has run away from the vehicle.  It is further alleged that the vehicle has then driven away, Queensland Police say.

At the time of receiving this information, Blackwater Police commenced an investigation in relation to this matter.  Further investigations are continuing.

Blackwater Police are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact Blackwater Police by calling the station on 49825933 during business hours, or Policelink on 131444 (24/7).  You are also able to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333000 to provide information anonymously.

As the community are our eyes and ears, Blackwater Police ask the community to report any suspicious behaviours or activity to Police immediately.  Remember if the matter is urgent to call 000, otherwise you can report the information on the above mentioned numbers.

Blackwater Police also encourage parents to reinforce ‘stranger danger’ with their children.  This message is provided to students within schools and is also delivered by local police through the Adopt a Cop Program.
