Suspicious business fire Glenside

Police are investigating after a Bar in Glenside was destroyed by fire this morning.

Just after 3am Sunday 20 August police and MFS were called to Greenhill Road after reports of a fire in a group of shops. When emergency services arrived on scene they found a licenced premises well alight with adjoining businesses under threat.

MFS battled the blaze bringing it under control in about 50 minutes however the bar was completely destroyed. Damage was caused to a restaurant and another business attached to the bar.

Police Fire Cause Investigators attended the scene and believe the fire was deliberately lit.

Later, about 4am police and MFS were called to Estella Street at Osborne after reports a black Subaru Impreza was on fire. Checks revealed this car had been stolen from Lightsview on Tuesday 15 August. Police are investigating if the car fire is linked to the business blaze.
