Suspicious fire at Hyde Park business, SA

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a Hyde Park tattoo parlour overnight, according to SA Police.

About 1.45am on Wednesday 14 June police and fire crews were called to the Unley Road business following reports of a fire at the premises.

Fire crews worked to fight the blaze but not before substantial damage was done to the first floor building. A second business on the ground floor also sustained water damage as a result.

A man who was staying at the premises was rescued by fire fighters from the first floor balcony of the building. Thankfully he did not sustain any injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the premises were broken into and an accelerant used to start the fire.

Police do not believe the incident is a random attack.
