Suspicious Fire Investigation, Yarrabilba

Detectives from Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit are investigating a suspicious fire at a business in Yarrabilba in the early hours of this morning, 8 April.

Around 1.10am, police and emergency services were called to a supermarket on Wongawallan Drive following multiple reports of a fire.

Initial investigations indicate a fire was lit in a locked external storage area attached to the building. The fire spread into the roof cavity, causing significant smoke to enter the main store.

The fire was extinguished; however, extensive smoke damage has been caused to the interior of the premises.

No one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene was declared, and investigations are ongoing.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have information or relevant vision from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
