Police are investigating the cause of a fire at an abandoned residential building in Lenaghan yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 8.45am today (Sunday 13 May 2018), emergency services were called to Lenaghans Drive, and found a building well alight.
The blaze was extinguished; however, the building sustained significant damage.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and established a crime scene. Once deemed safe it will be forensically examined.
The cause of the fire is unknown and as inquiries continue, police are appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
