Police are investigating a suspicious house fire that occurred at Acacia Ridge this afternoon, Queensland Police say.
Initial investigations indicate at about 4.51pm at a residence on Hemsworth Street, a male person was observed to exit a white Mitsubishi Magna sedan and throw two objects at the house shattering a glass door.
The house subsequently caught on fire destroying a lower level bedroom and smoke damage to the upper level of the house.
A 48-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation and a nearby vehicle was damaged as a result of the incident.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have information that may assist to contact police.
