Emergency services were called to Parramatta Road, near the intersection of Nyrang Street, after a Toyota Prado allegedly clipped the back of a trail bike shortly before 3pm (Saturday 1 May 2021).

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command – who were across the road on an unrelated matter – rendered first aid at the scene to the rider, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital where he died a short time later. He is believed to be aged in his 20s.

The driver of the SUV, an 18-year-old woman from Guildford West, was arrested and taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.

The woman, who is a P2 licence holder, was then taken to Auburn Police Station, where she was charged with negligent driving occasioning death.

She's been granted conditional bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on 13 May 2021.
