Swan Hill Remembers set to launch

The Swan Hill Regional Library will be launching their film titled Swan Hill Remembers on Monday, 31 August.

Council Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the event would include the launch of the film and current online exhibition, as well as a special author talk.

"The launch will feature an author talk with Mike Rosel, author of the book A Rat of Tobruk: A Digger's Lost Images of the Siege," Ms Cullinan added.

Ms Cullinan said the library had created a documentary-style film and an online exhibition of memorabilia commemorating local heroes, heroines and the significant local sites of World War II.

"The film Swan Hill Remembers, includes photographs and stories of veterans and townships within our municipality.

"We are looking forward to making the film, exhibition and author talk all available for viewing online from 7pm on Monday, 31 August," she added.

Ms Cullinan said the Swan Hill Remembers exhibition provided an interesting collection of World War II memorabilia and has been put together using images and information supplied by members of the community.

"The exhibition of World War II memorabilia will be displayed online until 31 October 2020 and the film, Swan Hill Remembers, will be available in perpetuity via the Swan Hill Regional Library website."

The film and online exhibition will be available for viewing from 7pm Monday, 31 August here
