Sydney CBD Double Fatality Under Police Probe

Two people have died after an incident in the Sydney CBD.

About 9.45am today (Saturday 16 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports that two people had fallen from the Western Distributor onto Harbour Street, Sydney.

Both persons – a man and a woman believed to be aged in their 40's – died prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Traffic diversions were implemented but have since been lifted.

Following extensive inquiries – and the availability of mobile phone and CCTV footage – investigators have established there are no suspicious circumstances.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
