A Sydney man and his wife are now contemplating an early retirement after winning a massive $32.63 million in Oz Lotto's over $90 million Boxing Day draw. The draw, held on December 26, 2023, has turned the Campbelltown couple into instant multi-millionaires, along with two other winners from New South Wales.
The lucky man, who occasionally plays the lottery, made a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a ticket for the draw on the afternoon of the draw day. His 25-game QuickPick entry ended up securing one of the three coveted division one prizes.
Upon receiving the call from a lotto official confirming his massive win, the Campbelltown resident was in disbelief.
“Oh my god!” he exclaimed when his prize was confirmed.
“I can’t believe it! I’m shaking!
“I sometimes play, and today I saw there was a $90 million draw, so I just grabbed a ticket this afternoon.
“I can’t believe it. Thank you!
“It’s a dream come true!
“It’s not just for myself but my entire family. Some of my family have been going through hard times lately and this is going to be a huge help.
"This is such a wonderful thing.
“My wife and I work very hard, but I think an early retirement is on the cards, along with helping our children and family.”
