Takeaway store fined for COVID-19 breach

A Fortitude Valley takeaway shop has been fined following investigations into a reported breach of the COVID-19 Public Health Directions.

Investigators from Taskforce Sierra Linnet commenced inquiries into an incident involving a large amount of people inside the Brunswick Street business around 3am on Sunday morning.

Police have today issued a Penalty Infringement Notice (PIN) to the business for failing to comply with the Chief Health Officer's Public Health Direction in the amount of $6,772.

Business operators and patrons are reminded to adhere to public health directions including social distancing measures at all times to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in Queensland.
