Taperoo man arrested after weapons found, South Australia

Police have arrested a man for weapons offences after he attempted to enter a property at Taperoo overnight.

About 12.30am on Friday 29 March, the occupants of a Railway Terrace home called police after hearing rattling noises at the front gate.

The occupant went out to investigate and found a man attempting to gain access to the yard.

The suspect was still on scene when police patrols arrived.

Officers searched the man and located several weapons including metal poles and knives as well as a torch, face mask and gloves.

A 42-year-old man from Taperoo was charged with four counts of carrying an offensive weapon and going equipped to commit an offence. He will be bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
