Tapestry Artist Tim Gresham to Speak at Ararat Gallery

Ararat Gallery TAMA will welcome celebrated tapestry artist Tim Gresham for an artist talk and exhibition opening on Saturday 25 October from 2pm to 4pm. The event marks the launch of Gresham's new exhibition, Perpetual, a body of work that explores light, colour and rhythm through contemporary woven tapestry.

With more than three decades of experience in tapestry art, Gresham's work draws inspiration from landscape and modernist design. His tapestries are recognised for their interplay of texture and tone, created using traditional techniques such as hatching and half-passing. Each piece evolves slowly and intuitively at the loom, an approach that celebrates both structure and spontaneity.

Mayor Cr Jo Armstrong said the event was an exciting opportunity for the community to engage with one of Australia's leading contemporary textile artists. "Tim Gresham's work speaks to the patience and precision of his craft, while celebrating the expressive potential of weaving. It's wonderful to see artists of his calibre share their insight and creative process with our local audience," Cr Armstrong said.

Ararat Gallery TAMA, one of Ararat's flagship attractions, continues to present exhibitions and artist programs that highlight the enduring creativity and innovation within textile art.

All are welcome to attend the free artist talk and exhibition opening.
