Taskforce Falcon Charges Two in John Versace Murder

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged two men for their alleged role in the murder of John Versace earlier this year.

About 10.30pm (Monday 19 May 2025), emergency services were called to a home on Dalton Street in Condell Park following reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command found a 23-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

He has since been identified as John Versace.

State Crime Command's Homicide Squad commenced investigations under Strike Force Harkstede which then continued under Taskforce Falcon when it was stood up to combat violent crime in Sydney.

Following extensive inquiries, about 6.30am today (Wednesday 5 November 2025), strike force detectives executed two search warrants in Casula and Bankstown.

In Casula, police arrested a 43-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with murder. He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court today.

At the address in Bankstown, police arrested a 19-year-old man. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.

Police will allege in court the men were involved in driving and moving the vehicles involved in the murder.

Investigations under Strike Force Harkstede continue.
