As a result of ongoing investigations into the criminal offences by members of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG), detectives from Taskforce Maxima, State Crime Command have executed a search warrant on an address on the Gold Coast, Queensland Police say.
Yesterday, a search warrant was executed on a Surfers Paradise address resulting in the location of an alleged stolen BMW X5 sedan and a stolen jetski. The BMW sedan is believed to have been stolen from a Hollywell address on December 12, 2016. The jetski is believed to have been stolen from a Hope Island address on April 1 2016.
A 28-year-old Surfers Paradise man, a former patched member of the Mongols OMCG Gold Coast chapter, was arrested for one count of the stealing, two counts of receiving stolen property, one count of the unlawful supply of weapons and one count relating to breach of bail.
A 31-year-old Surfers Paradise woman was also arrested for one count of the stealing, two counts of receiving stolen property, one count of enter premises and commit indictable offence.
The man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today and the woman will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 25.
"Once again, we are finding OMCG members and their associates committing serious crime. These people have been arrested on multiple occasions and they need to understand, if they continue to offend they will be targeted. We make no apologies for this," Acting Detective Inspector Russell Jones of Taskforce Maxima said.
