Tasmania penalised for slow over rate

Tasmania and Captain Matthew Wade have been penalised for a slow over rate in their round seven JLT Sheffield Shield match against South Australia.

Tasmania were found to be short of their required number of overs in the match, being a total of one over behind.

As per article 12.15.4.1 of the Sheffield Shield playing conditions, one match point has been deducted from Tasmania's match points on the competition ladder.

In addition, Matthew Wade, as captain, was given one strike for the over rate breach under Rule 12.15.4.2. Should Tasmania, with Wade as captain, incur another over rate strike in the Sheffield Shield this season, he will be suspended for their next Shield match.

Tasmania and Matthew Wade accepted the sanctions without appeal.
