Mr David Parmeter and Dr Jenny Gordon (co-chairs of the independent review) are inviting people to attend one of a series of public consultations on the independent review into the Tasmanian Transport Schemes.
The Review will contribute to serving the best interests of Tasmanian businesses and communities by reducing administrative burden and enabling more efficient shipping.
The upcoming consultation sessions provide a great opportunity for interested stakeholders to provide further feedback and views on the concerns raised during other consultation sessions so far. The session dates and locations are:
- Wednesday 11 February-Hobart-10:00am to 12:00pm
- Thursday 12 February-Launceston-10:00am to 12:00pm
- Friday 13 February-Burnie-10:00am to 12:00pm.
For those on Flinders Island and King Island, unfortunately the Reviewers will not be able to schedule in-person meetings. If you are unable to attend any of the above sessions, the Reviewers will organise a virtual meeting. Please register your interest in attending the virtual session and we will confirm the date and time in due course.
Feedback will play a key role in the development of the final report to the Australian Government in 2026, ensuring the schemes remain fit-for-purpose and deliver for Tasmanians into the future while supporting fair and sustainable access to mainland markets.
We encourage interested stakeholders to attend to ensure their views are heard and to share details of the consultation with their networks.
Registrations for the consultation sessions close on Friday 6 February.
