Tasmanian Labor Boosts Child Participation in Sport, 2023

Tas Labor

A Labor Government will make it easier for children to play sport, dance and participate in recreational activities by expanding the Ticket to Play initiative.

We understand how costly it can be for families to pay club membership and registration fees, especially during the cost of living crisis.

That is why Labor will invest an additional $1 million into Ticket to Play, increasing the number of Tasmanian children playing sport.

Supporting children to play and participate in sport, dance and recreational activities provides opportunities to learn important life skills and teamwork.

The additional funding will mean 8,500 more families can access support, removing the cost burden for families and assisting children to create life-long healthy habits and be active.

Labor's plan to expand Ticket to Play will be good for children, good for parents, and importantly, good for family budgets.
