Tasmanian Nurses, Midwives Honored at Awards Night

The outstanding achievements of nurses and midwives from across Tasmania's public sector have been recognised at an awards ceremony on Friday night.

The Tasmanian Public Sector Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards is held annually to celebrate the skill, dedication and commitment of the nursing and midwifery workforce across the State.

Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Bridget Archer, congratulated all award winners and finalists for their achievements.

"Nurses and midwives are vital to the delivery of healthcare in Tasmania and represent the largest health workforce group in the State,'' Minister Archer said.

"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all award winners and everyone who was nominated. These awards are prestigious, and I am pleased that you have been rightfully acknowledged for your efforts.

"Your commitment to providing high quality care, your compassion and dedication to your patients is commendable.

"I also want to say a big thank you to each and every nurse and midwife across Tasmania for the important role that you play in our many hospitals and other health settings. Your skill and dedication to your role and the teams in which you work is very much valued and appreciated."
