Taxi Driver Detected Drink Driving, TAS

At 6:35am on Tuesday 1 January 2019 members of the Northern Road and Public Order Services were conducting random breath tests in Kings Meadows following New Years Eve celebrations, Tasmania Police say.

At this time a 67 year old male taxi driver from Ravenswood was detected with alcohol in his body whilst transporting a fare.

It is a requirement of a person driving a public passenger vehicle to have a blood alcohol concentration of zero.

The male was charged and will appear in court at a later date.
