Teen approached on train in Cabramatta

Police are appealing for public assistance after a teenage girl was approached by a man on a train between Bankstown and Cabramatta yesterday, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 6pm (Tuesday 5 December 2017) a 15-year-old girl was travelling home in school uniform from a school excursion at Milsons Point.

Police were told while the teenage girl was travelling on a train between Bankstown and Cabramatta, a man believed to be aged in his 60s, made repeated inappropriate comments.

Two female passengers intervened to help the teenager, as he left the vicinity of the carriage and moved into another section of the train.

Upon arriving at Cabramatta Railway Station, the teenager told her mother and officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command were notified, and commenced investigations.

Police would like to speak with a man, who may be able to assist police with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 60s, with a medium build, short messy dirty blond hair and unshaven.

He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt, shorts and joggers.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who has information that may assist police with their inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
