Teen Arrested After Pedestrian Struck on Flinders Street

A teenage boy has been arrested after a pedestrian was struck in Melbourne's CBD on 11 October.

Investigators have been told the boy was driving a stolen Ford Escape east along tram lines on Flinders

Street when he struck the pedestrian standing at the intersection of Elizabeth Street, about 10.45am.

The boy performed a U-turn outside Flinders Street Station before continuing along Flinders Lane where he is believed to have struck several unoccupied parked cars.

The 16-year-old from the Greater Dandenong area was later arrested without incident on Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park.

He will be interviewed by police.

The victim, a woman from Southbank, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle is alleged to have been stolen from a business premises on Luster Circuit, Cranbourne South about 2am on 11 October.

Police have confirmed this is not an act of terrorism nor was it a targeted attack.
