A teenage boy has been charged after a police vehicle was allegedly damaged in Lake Macquarie early this morning.
About 3.50am (Friday 13 March 2026), police were alerted to a police vehicle being damaged outside Belmont Police Station.
Following inquiries, police found four windows of a parked police vehicle had allegedly been smashed with a hammer.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested a short time later on Herbert Street, near Belmont Police Station.
He was subsequently charged with breach of bail, destroy or damage property, armed with intent commit indictable offence, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Friday 13 March 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court on Monday 16 March 2025.
