Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a Melton West teenager following a hit-run collision in Melton last night, Victoria Police say.
The collision occurred in the car park of the Melton Railway Station at 11.30pm on Sunday 12 August when the victim, a 52-year-old Melton man was allegedly struck by a moped scooter being ridden on the footpath.
The victim was conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.
The 16-year-old Melton West boy was charged with negligently cause serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury, fail to stop and render assistance, theft of motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.
He has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
