Teen Charged in Chifley House Party Stabbing

A teenager has been charged as an investigation continues into an alleged stabbing at a house party in the Eastern Beaches area last weekend.

About 8.20pm on Saturday 5 July 2025, emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a house party on Carnegie Court, Chifley.

On arrival, police were told a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were at the front of the house when they were approached by approximately 10 people – two of which were allegedly armed with machetes.

The 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by members of the group before they left the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy for lacerations to his back and legs before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and an investigation into the incident commenced under Strike Force Murdong.

Yesterday (Thursday 10 July 2025), police arrested a 16-year-old boy in relation to the incident.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with,

- reckless wounding - in company,

- attempt stalk/intimidate intend fear of harm (personal),

- participate criminal group contribute criminal activity,

- supply prohibited drug less than equal to small quantity, and

- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

He was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Friday 11 July 2025).

The investigation continues into the incident and police are urging anyone with information, dashcam and or mobile phone footage in relation to contact Maroubra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
