A teenage boy will face court over multiple alleged break and enters and a pursuit in the state's north.
In August 2025, officers attached to Region Enforcement Squad Coffs Harbour and Mid North Coast Police District commenced an investigation following multiple armed break and enters in businesses in Kempsey, South West Rocks, Bonville, and Port Macquarie where several vehicle were stolen.
Following extensive investigations, about 1pm yesterday (Thursday 22 January 2026), police arrested a 13-year-old boy in Kempsey area.
He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000 (six counts), be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner (three counts), aggravated break an enter commit serious indictable offence-armed, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, and police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly.
Police will allege in court the boy was involved in several police pursuits during which he rammed a fully marked police vehicle.
He was refused bail to appear at children's court today (Friday 23 January 2026).
