Teen charged over Ballan fatal crash

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a 17-year-old boy following a fatal crash in Ballan, Victoria Police say.

The crash occurred on the Western Highway about 2.30pm yesterday after a short pursuit where an allegedly stolen van crashed into two trucks.

The 17-year-old faced an out of sessions hearing this evening and has been charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, conduct endangering life, theft of motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, burglary and other offences.

He has been remanded to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
