Teen charged over pursuit in Fairfield

Police have charged a teenager following a pursuit in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

About 1.30pm today, officers from Fairfield Local Area Command stopped in front of a Subaru on Evans Street at Fairfield, after observing it was parked on the incorrect side of the road.

The car accelerated away from officers and a pursuit was initiated.

The Subaru continued through a number of Fairfield streets before it crossed to the incorrect side of the road and crashed into another vehicle.

The pursuit continued along The Horsley Drive; however, was terminated when the vehicle again crossed to the wrong side of the road.

Police continued to patrol the area and located the vehicle a short time later on Ellis Parade.

Four males were arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The 17-year-old driver was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive reckless; drive manner dangerous; not give particulars to other driver; and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

The local youth was bail refused to appear at a children’s court tomorrow.
