Teen dies in hospital after crash, NSW

A teenager has died in hospital after a serious crash near Taree last week, NSW Police say.

About 3.20pm (Saturday 10 March 2018), a Nissan Pulsar was travelling south on Crowdy Head Road, Crowdy Head, when it left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, suffered concussion. He was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for a mandatory blood and urine sample.

A 17-year-old male passenger suffered life-threatening head injuries.

He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he died about 4pm on Friday 16 March 2018.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Crash Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the crash and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
